Production Calendar

A vibrant, ambitious and creative community like Washington County deserves vibrant, ambitious and creative theatre. Bag&Baggage Productions’ mission is to be a leader in the provision of live theatre and theatre education of the highest quality for residents of, and visitors to, Washington County, Oregon.

Created in 2005 to engage in creative theatre work in small communities without a resident professional theatre company, Bag&Baggage has developed a reputation for accessible, high quality, classical theatre work.

We focus on the classics of English literature (including Shakespeare and American dramatic works) and performs those shows in both traditional theatres and in found spaces, such as barns and outdoors.

Over the past 3 years, Bag&Baggage has developed strong links to Hillsboro and Beaverton, including partnerships with the McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse, the Glenn & Viola Walters Cultural Arts Center, The Kingstad Events Center and an exciting new partnership with The Venetian Theatre in downtown Hillsboro.

The Complete History of America (abridged)
In just a few short years, Bag&Baggage has been directly involved in producing 9 full-scale and touring theatre productions, we have earned more than $180,000 in ticket sales income, have employed dozens of local artists, actors and designers, have performed for audiences of over 40,000 and have developed a dedicated following among Washington County residents.

Coming up in the next year, Bag&Baggage will produce its most ambitious season yet, including a new production of Infinite Variety: Shakespeare’s Women Real and Imagined at the Glenn & Viola Walters Cultural Center and the Kingstad Center in Beaverton, a new adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Oregon State University, our inaugural production of Steel Magnolias for The Venetian Theatre and a world premiere of a new adaptation of Shakespeare’s beloved The Comedy of Errors at The Venetian Theatre in January of 2009 as part of Portland’s city-wide New Works Festival.
